Performance continues to do well in 2012. The two trades contributing most to the positive performance are the long positions in the NASDAQ and Oil. The short in the Bund (implemented last week) currently is a slight drag on performance. However, given the fact the expiry is more medium term there is still plenty of time for it to perform well.

Overall performance remains strong with YTD 2012 performance +13.07% and performance since inception (June 2009) at +194.85%.

Markets continue to drift in these quiet summer days. Market volumes across most asset classes and markets remain low. Risk indicators such as the VIX also suggest that investors are not too concerned about potential pit-falls for markets. Economic data has continued to show a rather mixed picture for the global economy. However, the big question now is whether economic data is positive enough to prevent central banks from feeling the need to implement new stimulus programs. This is especially the case for the US. The Eurozone definitely requires action the question here is in what form and what amount is necessary.
