Markets are continuing to perform well in these quiet summer days. News flow is at a minimum and there seems to be quite a relaxed mood about markets. There is a growing feeling that central banks are going to deliver on a stimulus program in the coming weeks. Markets are otherwise becoming more alarmed at the growing crisis in the Middle East. The escalation in the Syrian crisis as well as the increasing tensions regarding Iran has driven the price of oil up over the past few weeks. As the month of August comes to a close and market participants return to their desks it is likely that trading volumes will start to increase again. The big question which will be on people’s minds is whether the summer rally will continue?
